What to Expect:

Appointments are booked based on breed and type of service.  On your first visit, expect to leave your dog for about 1½ to 2 hours.  We work one on one with your dog and your first visit is very important to us.  We would like to get to know your dog so we can build a relationship with him or her. At Green Dog Wash we work as a team.  What does this mean? This means that your dog is usually assigned to the same groomer when possible, but on occasion your dog may be groomed by some else. We have a shop standard that is used on each dog so you will always receive the same quality service.

If you have time constraints, please let us know ahead of time. We are a start to finish salon, servicing one dog at a time, so being on time is very important to us.  If you are going to be late please give us a call 813.443.5714 for Tampa or 303.443.1808 for Boulder.

Full Service Grooming

Pricing:This costs more than having my hair done! What are our prices based on?  I’m glad you asked!  All prices are based on THE BREED, AVERAGE STANDARD SIZE, LENGTH DESIRED, AND CONDITION OF THE COAT. This is the toughest part of the grooming business. If we could get the price of the grooming down to a science, I think all groomers would be ecstatic. We have a general price list base for each breed which you are always welcome to see. Please note: From visit to visit your price may vary depending on the length desired and condition of the coat. If you have any questions regarding your price, we are always happy to discuss it with you.

All Full Service Grooming includes: A bath with choice of Green Dog Wash ShamPooch, towel and hand held dry with no heating element, eye and ear cleaning, brush teeth, nail clipping/grinding, brush out, and specific haircut based upon your dog's breed standard and/or your individual style choice.
Dog Grooming is an art.  We do not get the same luxuries of your hairdresser for absolute stillness and pointing our heads in one direction.  We are basically working with sharp equipment on a moving target.

Anal Glands Expression: $10

Flea and Tick Control:  $5 for spray down with AtLast organic flea and tick spray.
$20 for dogs with a major infestation ($5 for AtLast flea and tick spray down and $15 for Capstar)

We always try to detect fleas and ticks on a dog prior to beginning the bathing/grooming process.  Sometimes we do not notice the fleas or ticks until after the bath.  If we need to re-bath your dog an associated charge will be added as this adds additional time to the grooming process and for the fumigating clean-up process to clean the shop afterwards

ATLAST!® Organic Products - are made from a special combination of 100% certified organic ingredients. The active ingredient in ATLAST!® is cedar oil. Together with inert ingredients that include water, ethyl lactate and lavender oil, ATLAST® is highly effective in pest control yet safe enough for use on small animals, puppies and kittens.

CAPSTAR®- (nitenpyram) is an orally administered tablet that provides fast flea relief. In fact, CAPSTAR starts working within 30 minutes. A single dose of CAPSTAR should kill the adult fleas on your pet

Overgrown /Packed Undercoat - Minimum charge of $10-$20 depending on size of the dog and type of coat.  A dog is considered overgrown if they have not been groomed with-in 8 weeks of their last appointment.  Packed undercoat is when a dog is blowing their coat and have not been brushed out.  The dead hair is usually packed in certain areas requiring additional time to blow and/or brush out. 

De Matting $10 per 15min. (Only if agreed upon by a pet stylist.)

Severely Matted Dogs: If it is going to be painful for the pet, we do not do it.  De-matting certain coats is just cruel.  Occasionally we can set aside time to work on certain hair types but for the most part, prevention is key.  If your pet arrives with matted hair that will take more than a few minutes to safely brush out – you will be charged a minimum of $10 per 15 minutes of brush out time.  Only IF WE HAVE ALREADY AGREED TO BRUSH IT OUT. You are always welcome to come in between groom's for a Full Service or Self-Service Wash.  Everything is still included, for a lesser amount except for the actual body hair cut/style.

Special Needs(Behavior or Medical): We are willing to work with dogs that have a difficult time at the groomers. We find that the way we groom, start to finish, is a positive way to groom these types of dogs. If you let us know that your dog has biting or other nervous issues, we will work as quickly and safely with your dog to ensure a positive experience. We like to think they don’t have time to even get upset about the process. They are in and out of the tub, groomed and on their way home. We are happy to talk to you about how we handle these special cases.

Senior Dogs:  We have great respect for our senior friends and believe they still deserve the same services.  When your dog reaches a certain age, it is better to provide the essentials.  I hate to say we don't aim for perfection, but they have done their time with their fancy cuts.  We aim to make you dog comfortable and happy when receiving services at this age.  if you have special needs for your senior, then can be discussed when you set your appointment.

A special needs dog will be charged a handling fee starting at $10.  If the pet is biting and takes more than his/her pet stylist to complete, there could be a possible charge of up to $20 added to the base rate.

Dog Sitting Fee:

-$15 per hour late pick-up without notification per dog.
We are a cage free environment and groom based on set appointment times.  We ask that you are able to pick your dog up with-in 30 minutes of completion of the groom

No Show Fee:

We reserve the right to charge a no-show fee for missed appointments.  We all have busy schedules and realize that sometimes things come up that our out of out control.  Continued missed appointments may result in enforcement of the no-show fee and possible deposit required to keep an appointment time.
