We’re the eco-friendly and fun alternative to typical dog grooming.

The Green Dog Wash story begins with Presley, the laid-back Chocolate Lab that was once the four-legged best friend of co-owner Brian Corby.

Presley was a gold-medal winner in water retrieval – but when it came to bath time, she was a real mess. Presley shook her bath water and bubbles all over the bathroom floor and walls. And dog groomers weren’t any better. Brian became fed up with expensive and careless dog groomers when Presley returned from her grooming appointments with her whiskers partially shaved off and nicks on her paws. The last straw was when Presley refused to enter the dog groomer’s store one day – that’s when Brian said, “Enough!”

Then, following the nationwide contaminated pet food recall several years ago, Brian started exploring safer and more natural pet foods and products to keep Presley safe.

When Presley passed away after 13 years, Brian was inspired to use his new knowledge about eco-friendly pet products to create a better grooming option for dogs – including his new friend, Seven, a silver-colored Lab. Brian contacted his friend, Greg Bitel, and the two developed a concept for a safe, green and fun self-service dog wash. And the rest is history.

Today, Green Dog Wash is a locally owned and operated business that promotes proper pet nutrition and dog grooming within an environmentally conscious, socially engaging, clean and comfortable setting. It’s a place for people to economically bathe their dogs (while enjoying some quality bonding time) and to connect with like-minded dog lovers.

• Meet Brian

  Brian Corby is the President and co-founder of Green Dog Wash.  Brian has an extensive sales and management background in the IT industry, but his passion for dogs and entrepreneurship finally took hold and led to the creation of Green Dog Wash.  He used to enjoy participating in basketball, softball and football, but spends most days on the golf course or in the bleachers now cheering on the Rays and Bucs.  He currently resides in South Tampa.

• Meet Greg
  Greg Bitel is the Strategy Director and co-founder of Green Dog Wash. Greg is in the midst of his “do something else phase” of his career after 20+ years as a management and strategy consultant. He lives in Windermere, Florida with his wife Darlene, and two girls, Lyndsey, 8, and Addison Marley, somewhere between 1 and 2.  He is currently unattached to any particular dog, although has a long history of significant dog relationships, including BrownDog, Amber, Dogzilla, Lumpy, Bean, and Moose.

• Meet Seven

  Born June 30, 2007, Seven is a Chocolate Lab (but her coat is a beautiful silver!) Seven loves swimming, jumping off docks, conserving energy under the shade trees on the golf course, and occasionally showing bursts of energy not related to her quest for more food. Her special tricks include opening the back door of Brian’s house and chewing paper into very, VERY small pieces (“Thankfully, nothing important yet,” Brian says). Seven will also hold the title of Chief Toy Tester and will gladly make recommendations to all who ask.
